Community and Volunteer Coordinator

The Community and Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships within the community and coordinating volunteer programs to support organizational goals.

Community Engagement:

Identify and connect with key community stakeholders, organizations, and influencers.

Plan and organize community events, workshops, and activities to foster engagement.

Represent the organization at community meetings and events.

Identify, establish and maintain partnership organizations to enhance client services, community resources, engagement and volunteerism.

Volunteer Program Management:

Recruit, train, and onboard volunteers based on organizational needs.

Develop and implement volunteer policies, procedures, and standards.

Match volunteers with suitable opportunities and projects.

Communication:

Create and distribute communications to volunteers and community members.

Maintain regular communication channels to keep volunteers informed and engaged.

Utilize social media and other platforms to promote community engagement and volunteer opportunities.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with ACFB staff, volunteers and committees to align community and volunteer efforts with organizational objectives.

Data Management:

Maintain accurate records of volunteers, their activities, and community engagement initiatives.

Generate reports on volunteer participation and community outreach efforts.

Training and Development:

Provide training sessions for volunteers on relevant skills and organizational values.

Support continuous learning and development opportunities for volunteers.

Other Duties:

Daily operational back-up as needed

Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., community development, social work, communications).

Proven experience in community engagement and volunteer management.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent time management with ability to work independently

Organizational and project management abilities.

Ability to interact with various community and professional agencies and develop an understanding of available resources

Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment

Familiarity with relevant tools and technologies for volunteer coordination.

Knowledge of Google Suite and other applicable computer skills

Ability to use common social media platforms to engage community

Excellent writing skills
