Procurement Manager

Description:As a leader in the Procurement team, you will report directly to the Supply Chain Production & Planning Manager. You will lead the purchasing functions including, but not limited to strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier management. You will serve as a mentor and coach to a team of people performing these functions, as well as manage the group directly reporting to you.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ensure supply of procured materials is always available for production when needed. Set sourcing strategy including make/buy decisions Select, qualify, and integrate new and second-source alternate suppliers Rationalize the existing supplier base and optimize for quality, cost and delivery Develop key suppliers as business partners, including regular review of supplier scorecards Partner with Quality Assurance, Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve supplier problems Partner with engineering to support new product development and product launches Setup/review/adjust purchasing policy in ERP system Regularly analyze, present and act upon a comprehensive set of supply chain KPIs for the company including lead times, on-time delivery, and inventory turns. Manage, train and mentor a group of Procurement professionals in a direct reporting relationship.Skills:erp mrp, Production scheduling, demand planning, Procurement, Purchasing, vendor sourcing, Vendor negotiation, Intuitive, ErpAdditional Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, Supply & Logistics, Business, Engineering or related field preferred. The following experience is strictly required:o Prior experience managing people in a direct-report environment (minimum 3+).o At least 5 years of experience in a Procurement role in a manufacturing settingo Experience in strategic sourcing activities.o Proven track record of improving suppliers and global supply chainso Understanding of Lean manufacturing and ISO 9001 quality systems The following are a big plus:o Certifications in supply chain managemento Experience working in advanced quality systems such as medical, military, aerospaceo Six sigma green belt or black belto Project management training/certificationo Experience leading value stream mapping and process improvement projectso Experience working in a machine shop environment or with machine toolso Experience in the manufacture of highly engineered mechanical/electromechanical deviceso Design engineering or new product development experienceo Experience in Design For Manufacturing (DFM) or related (“DFX”)If interested please contact Tyler via email at tchok@astoncarter.com or apply to posting!About Aston Carter: Please Note: Scammers are posing as Aston Carter.
