Job Title: Clubhouse Manager
Job Summary:
Manage all aspects of Neskowin Beach Golf Course (NBGC) clubhouse operations. This is a seasonal position. The golf season is influenced by weather, typically starting Memorial Day weekend and ending in mid-October. The job requires preparation before the season begins and some work after the season ends. The clubhouse is the “face” of NBGC. Candidates must have strong interpersonal and staff management skills, organizational skills, and a good working knowledge of computer programs, budget and inventory management. Candidates must have availability to work most days of the week, including early mornings and some late evenings.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Staff Management
● Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring and training clubhouse staff (3 part-time staff and occasional volunteer help)
● Create and manage schedule for staff and volunteers, ensuring proper coverage in and outside the clubhouse (including opening & closing the clubhouse)
● Manage all staff members and volunteer’s performance, ensuring consistency with NBGC policies and procedures
● Maintain the daily golf tee sheet. Schedule golf course activity and course play to optimize use of course facilities
● Maintain the clubhouse interior and outdoor patio appearance
● Manage compliance with OLCC rules and regulations including that all staff and volunteers have a valid OLCC license
● Maintain open communications with course superintendent
Financial Management
● Work closely with Board Treasurer to develop, with Board approval, and administer an annual operating budget for clubhouse operations
● Manage and process NBGC annual memberships (including season pass holders)
● Benchmark greens fees for coastal golf courses within reasonable proximity and provide to the Board for their consideration in setting NBGC greens fees for the season
● Ensure daily proceeds are reconciled to cash taken in, and cash is securely stored in office safe every evening
● Ensure regular deposits are made at the bank
Merchandise, Food & Beverages
● Responsible for ordering and maintaining all clubhouse inventory, including but not limited to, clothing, all “swag”, snacks, beverages, balls, tees, etc.
● Make decisions for pricing merchandise, food and beverages sold in clubhouse
● Responsible for merchandising product and point of sale
Marketing & Event Coordination
● Develop and coordinate promotions and advertisements. Manage social media (develop and maintain postings, etc.)
● Coordinate NBGC events such as Bingo, Tuesday scramble, Memorial Day sign painting, Lady’s and Men’s golf
● Identify, schedule and coordinate clubhouse patio activities such as wine and beer tastings and music events
● Awareness of and compliance with Tillamook County regulations and permitting regarding food and events
● Coordinate activities with businesses, golf teams and interested groups, including reviewing requests for events
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
● Supervisory/management experience, preferably in a retail, sport or customer related field
● Retail and community involvement experience. Excellent people skills
● Working knowledge or ability to quickly learn relevant computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office, Google Suit, Adobe and Point of Sale software. Good working knowledge of computer filing systems
Compensation:
● Hourly position ($25-$30/HR). Rate to be determined based on candidate’s qualifications
● Typical total hours over the season approximate 1000 hours, including full-time work (40 hours/wk.) from June through September, and part-time work in Spring and Fall
● Bonus potential
