Present menus, answer questions, and make recommendations regarding food and beverage options.
Take accurate food and drink orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff.
Serve food and drinks, and ensure guests have everything they need for a pleasant dining experience.
Process payments and maintain a clean and organized dining area.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred but not mandatory.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Dishwasher
Position Overview:
As a dishwasher at The Portside, you play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen. Your responsibilities will include washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment, as well as assisting with kitchen cleanliness and organization.
Responsibilities:
Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwashers or by hand.
Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition.
Assist in the preparation of food items as needed and dispose of waste in an eco-friendly manner.
Requirements:
No previous experience required; training will be provided.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
A strong work ethic and reliability.
Bartender
Position Overview:
The Portside is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic bartender to provide an excellent guest drinking experience. The ideal candidate will be able to create classic and innovative drinks exceeding customers’ needs and expectations.
Responsibilities:
Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons.
Interact with customers, take orders, and serve snacks and drinks.
Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
Check customers' identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age.
Requirements:
Proven working experience as a bartender.
Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks.
Computer literacy and experience with POS systems.
Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked, and clean.
Cook
Position Overview:
The Portside is looking for a dedicated cook to support our culinary team. Working under the guidance of our lead chef, you will assist in the preparation of our signature dishes and ensure the highest quality of food for our guests.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes under the supervision of the lead chef.
Ensure ingredients and final dishes are fresh, properly prepared, and presented to our high standards.
Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
Work with the kitchen team to manage inventory and minimize waste.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a cook.
Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils.
Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
