Responsibilities: While we have two amazing dental assistants, we do not have hygiene-specific assistants. Our hygienists are responsible for setting up/breaking down their own rooms, taking xrays, sterilizing their instruments, and writing their own notes. We use the Cavitron 300 Series Ultrasonic Scaling System which has an improved ergonomic design that limits needed wrist movements during procedures.
Qualifications and expectations: Active OR RDH license, competent in delivering local anesthesia, clear communication and education with patients, clean communication with coworkers.
