I'm looking for a part-time care giver for my mom, 1-2 days per week with flexibility on days. She has advanced multiple sclerosis and can't walk. With assistance she can partially use her legs to assist with weight burden, but otherwise has equipment to help move her around (electric chairs, wheeled walkers with seats, etc). She's a sweet and fun lady to talk to, and is not overweight.
My dad has been her full-time care giver for many years and can still take care of her, but having limited ability to leave the house due to her care needs has made it difficult. Largely, the purpose of this post is to find someone who can assist my mom to the restroom or shower 1-2 days per week while making sure she does not fall (once there she can take care of herself, the problem is walking/balancing while getting to those locations without falling; otherwise, she mostly lays in bed or sits on the couch and watches TV).
While assisting her a person could do college/trade school homework, reads books, watch TV, etc. The landscape is beautiful, therapeutic and is a nice atmosphere to be around. Largely the goal is to keep her safe so my dad can go crabbing, grocery shopping, run errands, etc. 1-2 days per week without having to be worried for her safety. Starting pay is $25/hour. I live on the East cost otherwise I'd assist more.
