The Emerson School, a K-5 public charter school located in downtown Portland, is looking for a long-term substitute teacher for one of our 4th/5th grade blended classrooms for the 2024-2025 school year (dates: February 18 - May 9)

REQUIRED CREDENTIAL: Current TSPC license REQUIRED. Transitional licenses or out of state licenses are not acceptable.
The position serves as long-term substitute classroom teacher in a blended 4th/5th grade classroom, creating a flexible program favorable to learning and personal growth in accordance with each student's ability and the school’s stated curriculum. The Substitute Teacher will follow the Project Approach and other school curriculum in alignment with Oregon content standards and benchmarks, and will maintain classroom community through Positive Discipline in the Classroom techniques as defined by the school’s charter. Benefits include parking reimbursement and participation in PERS for qualified applicants.
Daily Rate: $225.00/day
Substitute educators who work 10 or more days in an assignment are eligible for an extended daily rate: $276.80
