Job Summary: Works together with students and staff to develop a program for their leisure time.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Supervises all recreation/non-vocational staff activity ensuring that students receive instruction in the safety aspects of all activities, e.g., drown proofing. Conducts in-service staff training session.
Plans and arranges for all on-center activities, to include provision for cultural activities, arts and crafts, sports, and games.
Maintains recreation/non-vocational supplies and equipment, and orders replacements as necessary.
Submits timely reports on recreation/non-vocational activities.
Manage monthly department budget and order supplies (cleaning and function) for the department.
Formulates and recommends new or revised recreation/non-vocational programs to the Social Development Director.
Ensures that all programs comply with DOL requirements.
Make community contacts with directors of recreational facilities to create positive partnerships/ linkages and develop rapport.
Attends required staff training sessions.
Facilitates staff and student meetings / groups as required
Perform other duties as assigned.
