About the Work
At PPM, we handle a diverse range of projects, including:

Our goal is to provide the most accurate and high-quality As-Built plans in the industry, paired with exceptional customer service. As a contract surveyor, you’ll visit various buildings to document onsite conditions through measurements, drawings, photos, and generate plans/models or point clouds (if capable). Each project comes with a detailed scope of work provided in advance to ensure clarity and expectations.
Compensation: Flat fee per project, based on size, complexity, location, and scope.
Workload: Flexible — take on as many or as few projects as fit your schedule.
Opportunities: Available for both local work and travel.
About You
Expert-Level Experience – You have extensive experience measuring buildings and creating precise digital As-Built plans, including floor plans, elevations, roof plans, RCPs, electrical plans, and sections.
Point Cloud Capabilities (Preferred but not required) – Owning a laser scanner and providing point cloud deliverables is a major plus!
Detail-Oriented & Accuracy-Driven – You take pride in delivering highly accurate work, ensuring that every measurement is within 1” of actual conditions.
Self-Sufficient & Organized – You manage projects independently while maintaining clear communication and meeting deadlines.
Collaborative & Professional – You value teamwork, great client interactions, and contributing to a smooth workflow.
Requirements
- Ability to produce plans with better than 1” accuracy for all items and overall structure.
- Utilize a high-quality laser distance meter for measurements.
- Own a LiDAR laser scanner? Even better! We’re particularly interested in surveyors who can provide point cloud deliverables in addition to traditional CAD/Revit plans, adhering to PPM’s layer and drawing standards.
- Provide your own tools, equipment, and transportation.
- Strong organization and communication skills to maintain schedules and interact professionally with clients.
- Experience with Revit or ArchiCAD is a plus!
Note: This is NOT a land surveying or design role. Applicants must have direct experience measuring buildings and producing As-Built architectural drawings.
