Assistant Payroll Manager (Portland, OR) #112233Date: May 31, 2024Location: PORTLAND, OR, US, 97232Company: PacifiCorpPacifiCorp is seeking customer-centric candidates to grow and sustain our commitment to a culture of customer service excellence, environmental sustainability and diversity, equity and inclusion.General PurposeThis position reports directly to the Payroll Manager and supports all activities associated with company-wide payroll processing and delivery, payroll tax administration, and coordination with the SAP IT department.Responsibilities

Lead the payroll team and participate in payroll processing tasks to ensure they are completed in an accurate, timely and efficient manner in accordance with established payroll procedures and regulations.

Participate in payroll tax research and completion of payroll tax filings and annual payroll processing functions.

Lead projects and initiatives.

Assist the payroll manager in the review, development and implementation of plans and processes to improve payroll efficiencies, provide adequate payroll controls, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Respond to data requests from auditors, regulation, and other ad hoc assignments.

Interface with accounting, treasury, information technology, operating departments, and payroll customers to resolve issues.

Maintain sensitive and confidential employee and company information.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Human Resources or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

A minimum of six years relevant accounting experience.

Strong experience with the review and development of controls and oversight procedures, FERC and regulatory processes.

Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Experience in financial statement preparation and analysis.

Demonstrated proficiency in the performance of advanced accounting methodologies and procedures.

Proven ability to review policies and procedures and determine validity and develop process to ensure ongoing compliance.

Ability to develop, document, implement and enforce processes and procedures.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of research, analysis, and consulting techniques, Company policies, procedures, practices, and applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
