A Portland-based custom merchandise company is seeking a part-time/freelance sewing specialist to sew patches onto caps, beanies, and occasionally clothing.
Responsibilities:
Operate semi-industrial sewing machines to sew various fabrics and materials according to specifications. (Pfaff 591 and Pfaff Ambition 610) POST BED SEWING EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
Produce retail quality work with extreme consistency.
Work with other team members to ensure timely completion of production goals.
Perform routine machine maintenance and assist in troubleshooting machine and operations issues.
Occasionally help with other operations of the production process.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
This role has no direct supervised positions to manage.
Requirements:
Prior experience in commercial or production environment sewing preferred
Ability to read and interpret production specifications and follow written and verbal instructions.
Detail-orientated and quality-conscious.
Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds.
Positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment.
Approach all sewing challenges with a solution-based mentality.
Excel within a system that demands attention to detail in work output.
Work in the office to start, potential for off-site/work from home eventually.
