Lead Ramp Agent Help us get flights out on time, every time, everyday! Have you ever wanted to get up close to passenger aircraft from 50-seat Regional Jets to the latest Boeing 737 MAX? Are you an outdoors type who enjoys all kinds of weather? Do you like physical work that keeps you fit? You want to coach and grow other agents? You’re a great candidate for a role as a part-time Lead Ramp Agent with United Ground Express, a subsidiary of United Airlines. As part of our ramp crew, you’ll be in constant motion as you take on many assignments like loading and unloading aircraft cargo, moving baggage to and from terminals, and marshalling aircraft. It’s a varied job that can be fun and fast-paced. Working on the Ramp as a Lead
You will be working outside in all kinds of weather, as flying never steps because it rains, snows or is too hot
You must love physical activity, as you will be lifting as many as 100 items per flight, some weighing as much as 70 lbs.
You’ll always need a commitment to safety, including an attention to detail and your surroundings
You should be committed to caring for our equipment, aircraft, and bags as if they were your own (passengers can see you!) and providing excellent customer service for your fellow UGE employees
Other duties as a Lead include, but are not limited to are:
o Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and policies
o Read/interpret aircraft load sheets, checked baggage tags, and cargo labels
o Lead and direct responsibilities related to the customer service role.
o Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures
o Oversee and ensure a safe work environment
o Provide coaching and training to team member
o Other Duties as Assigned

Since this is a union job based on seniority, you will be assigned your initial schedule to meet our needs at the airport
You must be available for day and night shifts, weekends and holidays
You will be required to work mandatory overtime, when necessary
As you gain seniority, you can trade days with colleagues, pick up extra hours and have more control over your schedule

UGE requirements
High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 18 years old
Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
Ability to operate a computer to enter and retrieve data
Ability to lift up to 70lbs on a consistent basis
Must be willing and able to perform a variety of physical activities including, bending, stooping, climbing, working in tight spaces, and working outside in all weather conditions
Ability to pass all pre-screening clearances (including a background check, hearing and vision tests, and drug screen)
Eligibility to obtain necessary credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal) per local requirements
Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Must be able to work during day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays; mandatory overtime may be required based on operational need
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
Ground Security Coordinator certified (GSC) required
