DescriptionThe Creative Group is seeking an energetic and talented writer for an established healthcare industry leader to create communications and lead production projects that will deliver both engaging and memorable messages the most effective manner possible. Our ideal candidate is aware of healthcare industry trends and has experience in a broad spectrum of disciplines. Must be able to translate strategic direction from managers into powerful communications. As a member of the creative team, our candidate must help craft innovative, creative concepts for advertising and other campaigns that align with brand strategy. This is a 3-month contract (with the potential to extend) in downtown Portland. Candidates are able to work remotely 1-2 days/week but are expected to be in the office the other days to collaborate with the team.RequirementsGeneral Functions and Outcomes: Provides copywriting/editing for print, digital, web and other marketing channels. Opportunity to collaborate on major campaigns from concept through production. Supports the monitoring and enforcement of branding guidelines. Follows established processes, including adherence to legal, regulatory and corporate editorial standards. Ability to learn Journi products and its services, strategies and operations, then apply that knowledge in developing communications and marketing deliverables. Edits/proofs and versions collateral coming out of Creative Services and other areas as needed, reviewing for content accuracy, brand integrity and appropriateness of style and usage. Applies knowledge of customer and business issues in developing and delivering projects. Opportunity to work with department heads, marketing managers and other internal stakeholders to accurately identify the best solution for clients and translate ideas into compelling creative concepts. Collaborates with business partners to create enticing and innovative messages, consistent with business goals. Interprets and follows established branding guidelines, participating in all stages of collateral development.Minimum Requirements: Advertising writing and prooing skills. Ability to turn complex subject matter into easy-to-understand language. Strong attention to detail and thorough knowledge of Chicago manual of style, grammar and usage rules. Proactive and enthusiastic communicator with a positive outlook. Ability to develop working relationships with internal and external business partners. Team player with excellent relationship and communication skills. Willingness to learn and take creative direction from senior team members. Knowledge of marketing concepts and strategies. Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet aggressive deadlines for creative-driven work. Flexibility in dealing with changing schedules and multiple points of view. Exceptional persuasive and advertising writing skills Superior ability to write compelling content that effectively targets the intended audience Excellent relationship and matrix management skills and the ability to motivate and inspire clients, co-workers and peers Strong knowledge base in marketing concepts and strategies Four-year degree in Communications, English, Journalism and/or related field 5+ years of professional copywriting experience (specifically for B2B, B2C and corporate marketing programs) as a creative marketing writer, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
