PM/Evening Shift at our Central Kitchen - come roll with us!
Origami Catering is a Portland-based company that provides grab & go sushi to local grocery markets, hospitals, and corporate dining. Our mission is to create exciting solutions with food. We are looking for a Bilingual Sushi Roller to come join our central kitchen night team. We are looking for someone who can work 3-5 days/week.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is required for this position. We are looking for to fill a lead type roll that can facilitate communication between our English and Spanish speaking crewmates.
Position: Sushi Roller
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00/hr (based on experience/evaluation), Please note that as a central kitchen this position does not receive tips.
Status: 3-5 days per week
Shift: 4:30pm 1:00AM. Typically out by 12:00AM
Benefits: Referral bonus ($100/person), monthly employee meal, medical insurance for full time employees, 401k.
Job Duties:
Roll, cut, and package sushi and related products in compliance with Origami standards
Maintain clean kitchen workstations, equipment, and utensils
Dishwashing and cleaning
Stock and organize inventory
Pick and pack (sort) sushi into deliver totes according to customer invoices
Adhere to company, state, and local food safety regulations
Qualifications:
Sushi knowledge/experience preferred (but will train if you're willing to learn!)
Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Dependable, punctual, and can work efficiently
Must be available to work closing shifts (1am) will need your own transportation
Candidate must provide a valid Multnomah Food Handler's Card within 30 days of hire
Ability to learn and thrive in fast paced environment
Must wear non-slip shoes
Can lift 40 pounds and stand for a full shift
Be positive, friendly, and have a team mindset
Jewelry and artificial nails are not allowed in the kitchen during production
Beard/hairnets are worn during production.
