Help make and care for cheese in Dundee through late-December

Briar Rose Creamery is a small, dedicated team of cheesemakers committed to producing handmade cheeses from local cow's milk in Dundee, Oregon.
The temporary Cheesemaking Production Assistant position is a seasonal, part time position at Briar Rose Creamery. We are looking for an extra set of hands to help us make and age cheese every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday through late December. No creamery experience is necessary. The right person will gain hands-on experience working as part of our team at our cheesemaking facility.
Qualifications:
Good upper-body strength, must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
Can stand on his/her feet for hours at a time.
Reliable transportation.
Understand what clean is and how to make things clean.
Curious by nature with an eagerness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
Ability to listen and follow instructions and procedures.
Kitchen/bakery, and food preparation experience is a plus.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently and neatly.
Cheesemaking is 75% cleaning. Clean floors, walls, and equipment every day.
Tasks include:
Packaging and wrapping fresh and aged cheese,
Working in cold cheese cellars,
Rotating refrigerated stocks,
Washing dishes,
Washing and preparing equipment for cheesemaking,
Assisting with the cheesemaking process.
Help with retail sales in our Farm Store every Friday and Saturday.
Some days are long and a good sense of humor is essential.
Hours are 24-30 hours per week, 3 days a week, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. This is a seasonal, entry level position, not an internship through mid-December. $16-$17/hour DOE.
Briar Rose Creamery is located outside of Dundee, Oregon, one+ hour drive southwest of Portland. RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION REQUIRED! No public transit here.
