Full-time night position and part-time day position available in a small, oven-based kitchen.
You will be self-directed, mature, internally motivated to produce beautiful plates, and interested in being part of something larger than the sum of its parts. Creativity and ambition a plus.
Responsibilities:
Run a small kitchen singlehandedly
Carefully plate and garnish dishes
Execute consistent portioning
Prep for your station
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and workstation
Qualifications:
Valid Oregon food handler's card
Able to lift 50 lbs
Clear and open communication skills
Quick learner
Good attitude and a positive outlook
One year kitchen experience preferred

The EL is a neighborhood restaurant and bar in the Slabtown area. We serve a small, scratch cooked menu to loyal customers and are growing through word of mouth. We believe that providing consistently well-prepared plates is imperative for that growth, we all work hard to achieve that, and anyone who joins us will share that belief.
As a team, we are kind, honest, and like to find enjoyment in our work. We can laugh at ourselves, not take anything tooooo seriously, and know that, at the end of the day, we have done the best we could. We know that serving the public requires patience and flexibility and are able to be gracious when challenging situations come up. Of course we all have our moments, but there just isn't room here for persistently negative attitudes or perpetually dark personalities.
