Farmers Market Cheese Salesperson
Farmers market season is here! Are you our next Farmers Market teammate? Do you want to help us sell award-winning, hand-crafted cheese at our farmers market booth every Saturday? This is a great job for a student or someone looking for supplemental income, and enjoys working outdoors, selling sought-after cheeses, surrounded by some of the best locally made goods and locally grown products in the Northwest!
Briar Rose Creamery, a small, artisan cheesemaker located in Dundee, Oregon is looking for farmer's market salespeople to staff our booths at two markets: Portland State Farmers Market & Beaverton Farmers Market every Saturday starting now through November.
You must be able to drive from the creamery in Dundee to the farmers market in Beaverton or Portland State and back to Dundee every Saturday during market season.
About the job:
-Our Farmers' Market staff-person is energetic, outgoing, and friendly.
-You love all kinds of cheese (and hand-crafted foods), and are comfortable talking about our cheese with customers. We'll give you tasting notes to help sell our hand-crafted cheeses.
-Must be available to drive back and forth from the creamery in Dundee to the farmers market and back to Dundee every Saturday during market season. We pay mileage in addition to your hourly wage.
-You can easily stand on your feet for several hours while selling cheese.
-You have a car or access to a vehicle that is suitable for hauling our market gear: a canopy, 40# coolers full of cheese, a 6-ft. table, and the rest of the equipment that make up a farmers market stand.
-You are comfortable handling credit card transactions, counting cash, and completing inventory paperwork at the end of a market day.
Hours are every Saturday at Portland State Farmers Market until Thanksgiving. Approximately 9-10 hours/week.
Compensation $17/hour plus mileage (Approximately $153 - $170/Saturday + mileage.) Extra perks include weekly cheese allowance, employee discount on products, plus occasional bonuses.
