Associate Engineer- Under the general supervision of the Senior Project Engineer, this position performs a variety of engineering related duties requiring general knowledge in the area of civil engineering. Work involves basic design, drafting, plan review, construction inspection, and project management. Position ensures compliance with plans, codes, specifications, and contract provisions; ensures compliance with City’s standards and specifications; and performs related work as required. Requires interaction with the general public, appointed and elected officials, consulting engineers, developers and contractors regarding technical issues.
Civil Engineer- Performs a variety of professional engineering work including oversight of both public and private projects; plan review, design and construction of public infrastructure, field inspections, and assisting the Director of Public Works/City Engineer, or the Senior Project Engineer in administering general engineering responsibilities of the department. Must have the ability to perform work in an office or field environment and ability to understand and apply federal, state and local regulations related to design and construction of public works. Works as a team member with developers, engineers, other City departments and other governmental agencies. Includes oversight and coordination of various office and field engineering tasks.
