Caregiver position available for daytime shifts in our SW Portland Adult Care Home. Our care home is staffed with 2 caregivers during the day, so we have the ability to spend quality time with our residents.
Job requirements include:
Have a great work ethic.
Be able to take direction and work well with others.
Possess the personality traits of patience, kindness, respect, reliability, trustworthiness, self-discipline, and integrity.
Enjoy engaging with the residents through conversation, companionship and activities.
Ability to follow a Person-Centered Care Model ensuring a focus on the resident’s capabilities and independence.
Ability to assist people who may be dependent in 4 or more activities of daily living including: toileting, bathing, dressing, hygiene, eating, and behavior management in a safe manner for both you and the resident.
Have the desire to cook nutritious meals and snacks according to the menu.
Ability to document facility records.
Ability to follow the resident’s care plans to ensure the resident’s needs and wants are being met.
Be in good physical condition (must be able to help transfer and turn residents in bed when needed).
Have reliable transportation.
Have the ability to read, write and speak English.
Have the ability to communicate effectively with the residents, staff, family and healthcare professionals.
Be able to pass a criminal records background check.
CPR/First Aid Certified within 30 days of hire.
Experience for these positions is preferred, but we are willing to work with someone who who is interested in working with this population and has the above job requirements.We thoroughly train new staff no matter what the experience to ensure the resident's exceptional care stays the same .
