PAY/COMPENSATION:

Starts at $22.00 for non experienced caregivers, raise opportunities after 90 day new hire period and certifications obtained depending on experience and independence level to 23.00. Experienced and fully certified caregivers start at $24.00 and depending on independence and ability can go to $25 after 90 day period.

Weekend differential: Extra $3.00/hr on Saturday and Sundays

Sick time, Holiday pay, Overtime pay, employee appreciation/job performance/attendance bonuses

Need to have experience with feeding tubes, catheters, Hoyer lift or be willing to be trained on these skills.

HOME SETTING:

Parkside adult family home is has 6 private bedrooms each with a private half bath. We provide 24 hour awake staffing for utmost safety to our residents. Meals are carefully planned according to our residents preference and caregivers are invited to enjoy meals as well. An outside patio and a park across the street for residents to enjoy. At Parkside AFH we operate as a team with a live-in owner and resident care manager and caregiver. We use synkwise electronic charting for medication administration and creating a smooth work flow for caregiver documentation. We strive to create mutual purpose between delivering a high standard of quality care to our residents and work/life balance for our care team.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The caregiver serves as the primary care and support contact for up to 6 residents living in a cozy home like adult family home; provides safe and superior personal and medical care in accordance with each resident’s care plan; honors residents’ rights and treats each resident with dignity and respect at all times, while ensuring the residents’ safety and well-being.

Night staff are awake at night and responsible for answering resident call lights, assisting with resident morning routine and vitals, light food prep and housework.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Basic Training: WA State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Care Aid (HCA)

Specialty Training: Dementia and Mental Health

Nurse Delegation: Core Nurse Delegation

First Aid / CPR (online classes not accepted)

Washington State Food Handlers Card

Continuing Education: 12 hours of approved continuing education courses annually, due prior to your birthday each year.

TB two step test with in 3 days of hire

JOB DESCRIPTION/SKILLS

Performing and assisting with ADL'S, showering, toileting, ambulating/ transferring.

Meal Preparation, serving and feeding as needed

Light Housekeeping

Medication Set-up/administration/Monitoring

Engaging residents in activities

Communicating effectively with families and care team

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Must pass a criminal background check to include a Name and Date of Birth and Fingerprint Check

Must pass a Tuberculosis screening

Must submit proof of eligibility to work in the United States of America

Must have a valid Drivers License

Must be 18 years or older

Must speak, read and write English sufficiently in order to communicate effectively with others both inside and outside of the home (i.e. residents, visitors, medical professionals, adult family home care team, etc.)
