Arrowleaf Veterinary is currently hiring for the part-time position of an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Certified Veterinary Technician. This position is Monday and Friday 8am-5pm with weekends and major holidays off.

Working with animals can be a very fun and rewarding experience but can also be challenging at times - having a dedicated team to learn and laugh with is essential. As a Certified Veterinary Technician/Assistant, skills that are required are animal handling experience (restraint of dogs and cats), ability to obtain patient history and basic vital signs, maintain laundry, general cleaning, ability to follow OSHA guidelines, excellent verbal and written communication, and a polite phone manner.

Desired skills are the ability to perform basic grooming procedures such as nail trims and anal gland expression, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, intake, and discharge of patients (surgical and non-surgical), medication administration (injectable and oral routes), running lab work, lab machine maintenance, radiology certification and familiarity with positioning techniques including OFA.
