Job Title: Substance Use Disorder Professional
Place of Employment: Starting Point Treatment Center, Vancouver, WA
Qualifications: Applicants must have an associate degree in human services or related field, or successful completion of 90 quarter or 60 semester college credits in courses from an approved school - see WAC 246-811-010(9).
At least 45 quarter or 30 semester credits must be in courses relating to the substance use disorder profession and must include the topics listed in WAC 246-811-030. Specific topics include (Please see State DOH Website)
Training: Maintain the minimum continuing education requirements (CEU’s) as outlined by the Department of Health and/or Starting Point, Inc.
Special Requirements: If a recovering person from a chemical addiction, then the employee must have no history of chemical use for at least two (2) years preceding employment or at any time during employment.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: Plan, administer and modify as necessary the individual treatment programs for each assigned patient. Provide input and recommendations to the multidisciplinary professional team on matters affecting patient treatment programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Learn and practice the treatment philosophies, goals, policies and procedures of Starting Point, Inc.
2. Conduct assessments, as needed, making treatment recommendations in accord with all current laws, regulations and/or ASAM Patient Placement Criteria (PPC).
3. Conduct intake appointments for patient orientation and individualized treatment plan development.
4. Case management of patient files in a manner as to ensure (1) they are complete, accurate, current and legible. (2) That they provide documentation of patient progress towards attainment of treatment goals and (3) the completion/submission of all necessary reports required by the courts, department of licensing, and/or other governing bodies.
5. Facilitate patient group therapy and individual sessions for IOP and/or Aftercare, and ADISI (Alcohol, Drug and Information) class, as per WAC 440-22-455 (1) and 440-22-460(2).
6. Facilitate groups to increase awareness and understanding of addiction, relapse prevention, coping skills, codependency, and other related topics to assist and aide in the patients progress to meet their goals.
7. Maintain professional standards and ethics.
8. Meet with the multidisciplinary treatment team on a regular basis to discuss ongoing treatment and to explore methods to improve patient care.
9. Participate in counselor training programs as required.
10. Have a working knowledge of Zoom/Teams
11. To adhere/possess the qualities of an active team player with a willingness to continue to learn and improve their knowledge and skills.
12. Bilingual a plus (not mandatory)
13. Perform such other functions as may be assigned.
Job Type: Full Time/40 hrs per week
Schedule: 8 - 10 hour shift - days and evenings
