Facilities Assistant

Childpeace Montessori is seeking a Facilities Assistant to join our facilities team.

Work hours are TBD in the afternoons Monday to Friday during the school year with occasional evening and weekend commitments. This position is hourly, non-exempt, and benefit-eligible (medical, dental, and vision insurance, and more).

The Facilities Assistant works with the Facilities Manager to support all facilities activities including, but not limited to: building, grounds, and infrastructure maintenance, HVAC controls, custodial duties, safety support, and event coordination within the facilities team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensures the efficient operation of school facilities and equipment in compliance with federal, state, and city environmental, health, and safety policies and laws.

Acts as the secondary emergency contact for City of Portland, Fire, and Police.

In absence of Facilities Manager, oversees installation, inspections, repairs, troubleshooting, and daily maintenance of buildings, grounds, infrastructure, and facility equipment.

Maintains school grounds and landscaping and performs necessary repairs and upkeep, as well as snow and ice removal.

Performs repairs and maintenance tasks as directed by the Facilities Manager.

Removes graffiti and maintains a clean campus environment, aiding the Campus Saftey Officer with trash removal when necessary.

Meets and oversees technicians in the absence of the Facilities Manager.

Assists with maintaining facilities department processes including maintenance orders/records/schedules.

facilities records (building records, vendor contacts, general system information, warranties, etc.).

Manages facilities inventory including tools, equipment, furniture, storage units, and supplies.

Maintains a clean, organized, and accessible shop area.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

CPR/First Aid - training provided by School

Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect - training provided by School

Enrollment in the OCC Central Background Registry

We also have a middle school program operating adjacent to our Northwest campus.
