General Overview: Highway Sign Installers are responsible for the installation and repair of roadway signs. Crew members assist each other with all tasks needed to complete the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assemble and install signs adjacent to high-volume roadway. Transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from project sites. Cut materials to specified sizes, using power tools, prior to installation

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma preferred

1 year manual labor experience preferred

Ability to read and understand construction plans, drawings and specifications preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Ability to understand and follow oral instructions; communicate with co-workers and the public

Able to comply with all company policies and procedures

Must be able to travel out of town and work overtime when required

Must be willing to work varying shifts and weekends if required

Must have a strong work ethic

Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug screen

Commercial Driver License driver preferred but not necessary

Physical Demands: The physical demands below must be met to a reasonable degree for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Lift and carry up to 50 + pounds

Able to stand, kneel, squat, bend, push, pull, climb, see, and hear regularly while performing the

essential functions of the job

Able to move repetitively

Must be alert to the multiple activities of a construction site, including awareness of other employees,

subcontractors, equipment, and moving traffic when applicable

Coordination between hands, eyes, and feet to guide tools, equipment and objects

Ability walk and work on uneven terrain

Ability to work at heights

Follow all safety rules and regulations

Lift, carry and stack materials and traffic control devices

Wash and clean vehicles, equipment and traffic control devices

Maintain delivery/pickup tickets

Maintain accurate and timely driving logs

Full compliance with all safety initiatives

Manually dig holes up to 5 feet in depth

Work on overhead structures and supports

Prepare daily time card and “On Street” reports

General understanding of project plans and project specifications

General understanding of standard drawings and specifications

Working Conditions: All work is performed outside in various weather conditions (i.e. cold, wind, rain, sun, heat, etc.).

Exposure to all of nature’s elements

Exposure to all types of terrain

Work is performed adjacent to active roadways
