MAINTENANCE WORKER I – STORMWATER

The City of Camas is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill two full-time positions in the Stormwater Division of the Public Works Department. The individuals selected for these positions will primarily perform major and minor construction, maintenance and repair work on City stormwater systems; and performing a variety of stormwater maintenance work relative to assigned area of responsibility.
The hours for this position are normally Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., or as assigned, and it is based at the City Operations Center. These positions are represented by the AFSCME Local 307-CC bargaining unit and are eligible for a full benefits package.
Minimum Qualifications:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade
One year of maintenance or construction experience is desirable
Possession of a valid Class A preferred
Possession of a Flagging card within 6 months of date of employment
In addition to the job description requirements, the preferred candidates will possess the following attributes: positive attitude, ability to take initiative, excellent customer service skills, good verbal, and written communication skills, demonstrated organizational and decision-making skills and flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed.
