West Beach Resort on Orcas Island, WA is looking for qualified applicants to fill two positions: FT core Facilities Maintenance and PT-FT front desk/store/housekeeping. We are a family-friendly resort in the San Juan Islands archipelago off Washington State’s northwestern coast.
For the Maintenance position, we are looking for candidates with a working knowledge of the trades including basic carpentry, plumbing, light electrical, grounds, mechanical repair, appliance troubleshooting, small engine/motor troubleshooting and repair, marina repair, etc. Daily duties include performing maintenance on a wide range of facilities, tools, and equipment.
This permanent position is full time year-round. The employment package includes free on-site housing with all utilities paid (water, power, garbage, sewer, wifi). In addition to the provided housing, pay for the maintenance position is DOE $20-$25/hr. Housing is a large 2BR, two story on-site house. The upper level is designated for this available position and has two bedrooms, a large kitchen and living area, bathroom, and little fenced yard. The house sits about 200 feet from the beach and faces due west for prime sunset and outer island views. The lower level will be occupied by seasonal summer staff. Other employment benefits include paid vacation, paid sick time, a generous busy season bonus program, health insurance compensation, free laundry, 25% employee discount on store groceries, 5% discount on gas, and other mini benefits. Pay raises and extra bonuses based on performance. We also have the option for you to bring your own RV and/or other small housing options on the property.
We are also considering applicants with a significant other who has qualification in the front desk/barista/cashier area and/or housekeeping. $17-$20 DOE for this PT-FT front desk/store/housekeeping position.
Must have a valid driver’s license with insurance and no criminal history (background check performed).
