CCS is an iconic name in skateboarding and one of the largest action sports retailers in the United States. We carry a huge selection of skateboarding gear, shoes, clothing, accessories, longboards, and snowboards. Over 90% of our business is online.
The Copywriter is responsible for writing product descriptions, collecting products attributes, and creating editorial copy employing our brand voice.
The position requires about 20 hours per week. The copywriter will have some flexibilty in choosing which hours during the week and can also partially work from home if desired (approximately five hours per week will need to be at our office).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Apply the CCS brand voice in creative copy across channels, including our website, in emails, on social media, and for physical catalogs
Write product descriptions for shoes, apparel, accessories, and skateboard products
Collect data for product attribution including all relevant product details
Write email, social media, and website marketing copy
Maintain frequent communication with marketing team in order to understand key product details and bring them to life through copy that is both functional and evocative
Edit to reflect feedback and proofread to ensure accuracy of all copy across vehicles
Adhere to copy development schedules
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent written communication skills, including a capacity for creative writing and also exceptional spelling, grammar, punctuation, and proofreading capabilities
Bachelor of Arts
Interest in street wear and/or skateboarding is preferred but not required
Strong attention to detail
Comfort working with a high volume of product descriptions
Ability to determine and shift priorities
Ability to carry out detailed tasks and projects with minimal direction or supervision
Ability to work collaboratively and give and receive constructive feedback
