Art Department - PREFLIGHT OPERATOR
The Pre-Flight Operator is responsible to review all incoming digital artwork files and work internally and externally to get projects ready for the quoting and proofing process.
The role is unique in that this person reviews every project that comes into the company and requires someone with great time management skills, has a critical eye and wants to handle communications for all stakeholders on every project.
Previous client interaction experience is a must and music industry experience is a huge plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preflight all incoming digital artwork files for client projects, provide immediate feedback, and create a Preflight Report
Suggest best practices for clients and art staff
Follow up on any print-ready issues and work with clients to resolve problem files
Look to incorporate new technology to automate / enhance processes / results
Contributes to the development of the Art Department’s culture and quality standards in pursuit of elevating the art department output
Available to support on other projects as needed (merch / internal)
SKILLS:
Strong knowledge of prepress fundamentals and industry standards for commercial print.
Ability to take direction and apply technical skill set toward successful execution.
Must have the ability to juggle multiple projects at once and be flexible and cognizant of deadlines.
Experience in industry-standard graphic software: Adobe CS suite, including InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
Ability to advise on book formats, paper and packaging configurations
Comfortable prioritizing multiple requests and last minute requests from the clients and internal sales team needs.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills - Excel at working both independently as well as in a collaborative team.
Possesses energy, passion, and a desire to deliver innovative successful solutions for internal clients.
Quality assurance of print samples; provide feedback and suggest optimization for better results.
Strive to streamline the creative process, aiming to make it as efficient and effective as possible.
Work with internal clients across all departments to meet their communications needs.
