Digital Prepress Operator/Production Layout Artist

The Day-to-Day:
The person who fills this position must be self-motivated, thrive in lively circumstances, while remaining cool, calm, and confident. They will succeed with minimal supervision, manage their time efficiently, and maintain control over all current projects and responsibilities. This role requires extreme attention to detail and full knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that customer-supplied artwork for print is translated correctly into proofs and print ready files for our presses, which include grand format UV, dye sublimation, CNC routers, CNC laser, and others. You will pre-flight digital files to ensure that format, appearance, and layout of text/images are set correctly before moving to production. Maintain efficiency throughout production and meet quality standards with minimal errors. You will work with every department in the shop and take directions from the operations manager, owners, and multiple project managers. Communicating with project managers and machine operators to ensure that we meet client expectations is key. There is an approximate 80/20 mix of graphic file work and help in other areas.
Your Experience and Skills:
Production design experience
Knowledge of Digital Printing processes
Strong background in Pre-press operations
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent problem-solving skills
Minimum 2 years of experience in a production / design environment is required.
Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience with CAD, SketchUp, RIP software (Caldera, Fiery, Wasatch, Onyx), web to print software is a plus.
Some college/vocational training is preferred. Related, proven experience in lieu of formal education will also be considered.
