Signature Graphics is a locally-owned, full-service heatset and coldset commercial printer with direct mail advertising and graphic design businesses located in NE Portland, Oregon with approximately 150 employees. Since opening in 1984, Signature has become one of the largest printers in the Pacific Northwest, and we are currently looking for a Finishing Operator.
The Finishing Operator will help trouble-shoot problems and work with Maintenance on performing preventive maintenance and maintaining machines. When not setting up the machines or performing maintenance, the Operator will help on the production floor. This may include placing paper advertisements into an inserting machine hopper, jogging and bundling copies using a machine strapper, stacking finished product onto pallets, and performs other related tasks as required
This job requires some mechanical abilities and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities include setting up and prepping various machines in the Finishing department to process jobs as needed. These machines include addressing, inserting, binding, folding, and cutting.
JOB DUTIES::
Performs work in Mailing, Bindery, or Inserting as required
Assists in operation of equipment and performs other related tasks as required
Helps to minimize product waste to reasonable levels
Ability to work within deadlines, make appropriate decisions and work independently
Ability to function comfortably in a fast-paced, performance-based warehouse environment
Punctual and attends work in a regular and reliable manner
Night shift is 7:00PM -7:00AM
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Must follow safety guidelines at all times
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Basic proficiency in English
