Our client is a complete custom metal fabrication shop. Locally owned and operated since 1995, the organization has experienced consistent growth by satisfying the clients they serve. They build custom metal displays for retail environments, events, store displays, and prototypes as well as providing plate processing.

Summary

The CLASS 3 Fabricator/Finisher works on a variety of projects and adds to the creative abilities of the shop. In this position you will receive parts from the Staging area and process per standards, paperwork and direction. The right candidate will have a vast knowledge of different types of metal and finishes who can read blue prints and work efficiently without supervision. The client is looking for candidates of different skill levels of fabrications. The client values input to the design and bidding phase of projects. Based on skills, you will be place in the appropriate level with great opportunity to learn an progress.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Extensive experience welding light gauge metals

Receive parts from the Staging area and process per standards, paperwork and direction

Note start time of projects and PO number in your work order

Verify sub components are complete and undamaged

Safely assemble and weld project using standard fabrication methods

Forward parts to the QC team for inspecting and shipping

Communicate as needed with shop foreman on project status

Ability to build uncommon and unique assemblies with little or no supervision in a timely manner

Ability to read customer drawings, cut sheets, etc, and know their applications

Proficient in all fabrication equipment including presses, spot welders, rolls, etc.

Ability to hold tight tolerances (+ or - .030”) as required

Ability to inspect assemblies using measuring tools, straight edges, calipers, and other standard QC tools

Ability to produce high end finishes as needed

Able to discuss part defects and deficiencies with other departments and QC

Regularly give input on process and quality improvement

Pay: Up to $40/hr depending on skills and experience
