PURPOSE: To coordinate the Cooling Portland air conditioner distribution program and the Health Related Social Needs (HRSN) program.
ACCOUNTABILITY: To the mission and goals of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon (EMO) as determined by the Board of Directors, and as administered by the Executive Director and their delegates.
REPORTS TO: Public Health Coordinator
DIRECT REPORTS: Cooling Contractors
LOCATION: Hybrid – working some from home and at the EMO Core Office, 245 S Bancroft St.
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt, Part Time (16 hours) and Full Time (32 hours) for summer months.
BENEFITS: Starting at $27.43 per hour. All regular employees (does not include on-call or temporary) are eligible for vacation, holidays, sick leave, 401(k) retirement plan, employee assistance program and employee trainings. Employees in exempt positions or non-exempt positions that are 18 hours per week or more, also receive medical insurance, dental insurance, disability insurance and life insurance, per eligibility requirements.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
PCEF Cooling Portland – 0.5 FTE for 6 months (roughly April – October)
Hire and oversee contracted air conditioner installers.
Assess recipients’ eligibility for the program, add recipients to waitlist, plan routes and schedule installations by coordinating between recipients and installers.
Schedule warehouse pickups, defective unit returns, and maintain inventory of units and supplies.
Record completed installs, track unit serial numbers, collect Waiver Forms, submit monthly invoices to Earth Advantage, and submit quarterly reports to Earth Advantage.
Participate in weekly meetings with Earth Advantage and other CBO meetings with Portland Clean Energy Fund
Maintain EMO’s Electric Vehicle for cleanliness and potential repairs if needed.
HRSN Trillium – 0.5 FTE for full year of 2025
Assist project team members in creating HRSN intake process.
Assess recipients’ eligibility for the program, add recipients to waitlist, plan routes and schedule installations by coordinating between recipients and installers.
Schedule warehouse pickups and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
Record completed installs, track equipment serial numbers, and collect Waiver Forms.
Report equipment installed based on HRSN requirements.
Other related responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work within the mission, vision and ethics of EMO, and maintain an understanding of the services provided by the programs and projects of EMO.
KNOWLEDGE: Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and applications, specifically Microsoft Excel; Must possess valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and evidence of insurability.
SKILLS: Excellent oral and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen to and affirm people from a wide variety of backgrounds and circumstances; Treat all individuals with respect and dignity; Self-starter able to work with minimum supervision.
EFFORT: Must be able to lift, carry, and install equipment weighing up to 75 pounds, and go up and down stairs with equipment in hand. Ability to drive designated EMO vehicles.
RESPONSIBILITY: Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining a close relationship with supervisors and with the broader organization; Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet necessary deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to work in a respectful manner with people of diverse ethnicity, socio-economic circumstances, religion, culture and sexual orientation; High tolerance for ambiguity and change.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Second language in speaking and writing, especially Spanish.
