Description & Details: The Mailroom Clerk position is responsible for helping in various areas of the Systems Mail Center including handwork, fanning, quality check and sorting responsibilities. Quality results driven with an eye for detail in a fast paced, high volume work environment is the ideal incumbent for this role. The primary job function for this role will be for a Fanner position. This is a very physical role; you will be on your feet their entire shift and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Job Responsibilities
-Handwork: Staple packets, stuffing envelopes and organizing items as directed by standard operating procedures.
-Fanner: Assists either Insert/Sorter operator at the end of the mail machines. Quality check production mail pieces to ensure mail is produced in accordance with standard operating procedures. Also, performs line breakdown and tray preparation for entry into the USPS.
-Operate and maintain mailroom equipment such as postage meters, scanners, and copiers.
-Ensure the mailroom is organized, clean, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
-Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
-Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages to the appropriate departments and individuals.
-Prepare and process outgoing mail and packages, including USPS, FedEx, UPS, and other couriers.
-Track and maintain records of all incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
-Maintain accurate logs and records of mailroom activities.
-Perform data entry and update mail tracking systems.
Qualifications
-1+ years relevant experience
-High School Diploma or GED
-Basic understanding of USPS Regulations
-Attention to detail, working quickly but accurately
-Results driven with high attention to detail
-Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
-Must be able to sit or stand on your feet all day and be able to bend, turn, twist and lift.
-Must be able to understand and follow operator instructions.
