Industrial Source is now hiring a full time Cylinder Filler Technician at our Portland Location. Shift is 8am-5pm with one hour lunch, Monday-Friday. Training will be provided.
What You’ll Do:
The Cylinder Filler will safely handle and fill gas products into liquid, medical, and high-pressure cylinders, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company standard operating procedures.
Cylinder Inspection: Inspect cylinders before filling, complying with procedures required by government, our company, and distributor standards. Perform various safety checks, such as odor tests and inspections of caps and valves, and analyze products for purity and correct mixtures.
Cylinder Handling: Manage high-pressure, medical, and liquid cylinders. Prepare high-pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling by connecting to a manifold and evacuating to eliminate contaminants. Fill cylinders according to pressure and weight regulations.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all government and company regulations related to the safe handling of hazardous materials and cylinder gases.
Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading cylinders from pallets and tractor trailers. Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment as needed.
Documentation: Complete all necessary documentation to meet DOT, FDA, OSHA, and company standards, including quality control sheets.
Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly appearance in the plant.
Who You Need to Be:
Dedicated to safety, have a genuine energy for solid teamwork, be enthusiastic about exceptional customer service, and committed to accuracy with data through use of a handheld scanning device. We’re looking for someone who is willing to work hard, adjust when customers need us, has the agility to flow where the work is needed, and has the confidence to act decisively in a fast-paced deadline-sensitive environment. If you are a motivated, enthusiastic self-starter with the ability to prioritize your own workload, and work independently, all while maintaining safety and regulatory agency standards, this job is for you. We do have lifting requirements up to 75lbs frequently, with assistance. Cylinders are made of steel; by design they are heavy and awkward to move.
