Powell's Books, the nation's top independent bookseller, is looking for a full-time Lead Bookseller to join the team at our flagship location, Powell's City of Books in downtown Portland! The Lead Bookseller is a senior staff position on the Generalist team.
This position will be focused in the PPR zone, which includes the Pearl, Purple, and Red rooms.
Lead Booksellers help to make sure that all aspects of bookselling operate smoothly, that our customers' needs are met, and that Generalists have the resources and training they need to do both task work and customer service.
Lead Booksellers focus primarily on section maintenance and merchandising. They work closely with Generalists to make sure our sections and displays are well-loved and well-maintained. Some examples of their tasks: problem-solve overstock issues; encourage participation in display work; ensure task work is completed correctly and in a timely manner; train newer employees; and lead store projects.

Pay: $18.75, or higher, depending on experience
Schedule: The schedule is still to be determined. The schedule will be consistent, with shifts starting as early as 11am and ending as late as 9pm and will also include both weekend days.
