Wonderful PDX is hiring! We are a bright and beautiful small boutique in Portland’s South Waterfront neighborhood showcasing a collection of sterling silver and fashion jewelry; artistic gifts and decor; and unique accessories sourced from all over the world. We’re a neighborhood shop with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that treasures every customer.
We are seeking a self motivated people person to work 3 to 4 days a week with the extra day thrown in here and there. We are open to building a customized, regular schedule that suits you. Pay will DOE.
Duties:
We are a tiny independent small business and you will be involved in all aspects of caring for our customers and the store. This includes but is not limited to:
Operating the POS system with all its quirks, and accurately handling cash (the actual green stuff).
Cleaning the store and everything in it, including polishing endlesss amounts of jewelry.
Receiving and pricing merchandise. It’s a plus if you can write really, really small.
Knowing the who, what, where and how of the items we carry. Being able to share product knowledge with our customers is very important.
Helping our customers select items by successfully interpreting their needs, and providing them with exceptional customer service that is considerate, thoughtful and sincere.
Requirements:
You ABSOLUTELY, WITHOUT EXCEPTION must have 2 years of recent experience working in specialty retail in the fashion, decor, home goods, jewelry or gift industry.
You must be able to reliably show up for your scheduled shifts on time.
You are proficient with modern technology and can use a basic iPad interface.
You must be fully vaccinated, including a booster shot. We are next to OHSU and a large portion of our customers are elderly, compromised or in cancer treatment.
You are calm, reliable and considerate of your fellow employees and the needs of the store.
You are comfortable working alone and are able to keep yourself busy without being explicitly told to keep yourself busy.

You can find your way here on public transportation. Parking is challenging in the South Waterfront.
