Position Opening: E-Commerce & Social Media Lead/Retail Sales Associate
Hours: 30 hours/week
Work Schedule: To be determined; weekend availability required
Pay: $18/hour
Pay Frequency: Monthly
Start Date: Late July/Early August

Position Description:
ReClaim It! (RCI) is a retail store operated by Cracked Pots, Inc (CP) a non-profit environmental arts organization devoted to waste reduction. The store sells objects and materials rescued from the waste stream, in order to inspire people to reuse and reimagine them. This position reports directly to the Store Manager, and works cooperatively with store staff and RCI store volunteers.
Duties of E-Commerce Lead/Social Media Lead/Retail Sales Associate:
This position will encompass two roles: E-commerce team lead and retail sales associate. The E-Commerce/Social Media lead is responsible for maintaining our robust and successful on line sales/social media program for selling items; reaching a broader customer market through a variety of online platforms, and creating store recognition through postings on a variety of social media outlets. The Sales associate aspect of the job encompasses the typical duties in a retail shophelping customers and creating a positive shopping experience.
E-Commerce Lead 20+/- hours per week :
identify higher end and unique items appropriate for e-commerce, with guidance from store manager
research and price items; familiarity with recognizing vintage items
describe, photograph and post items to e-commerce website in a thoughtful and creative manner consistent with the RIC branding and style
direct a team of volunteers; assigning tasks to volunteers to facilitate e-commerce listings including item research, item pricing, postings
Use Instagram, Facebook, Craigslist, etc. as selling platforms, and for social media postings with content that relates to the mission of RCI
Use Square POS for tracking Ecommerce sales
work independently in an active and fluid environment
create Instagram posts, in conjunction with social media manager and store manager
respond to Instagram and Facebook questions regarding e-commerce listings
create monthly board reports reflecting e-commerce sales and social media activities
attend board meetings as requested
create a detailed and accurate timesheet on a monthly basis
Retail Sales Associate 10+/-hours per week
interact with the public with a friendly demeanor
accurately use Square POS to process transactions
willingness and ability to lift and move 40 lbs
handle cash, opening/closing a cash drawer
attend staff meetings as requested
assist in maintaining a clean and safe store environment
clean items that may be dirty or moldy
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
A commitment to recycling, waste reduction, and reuse, with an emphasis on creative reuse
Knowledge of antiques and collectibles, a plus
Two years experience using Instagram, Facebook, and other Social Media outlets
Experience producing quality photos, and social media postings
Ability to write product descriptions and social media postings in an appealing, accurate and consistent manner
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
At least two years of experience in a retail environment
Availability and openness to flexible work hours
A sense of humor; in our constantly changing work environment the ability to be flexible and move from task-to-task is key.
A keen sense of organization
Experience merchandising, creating signage and in-store displays a plus
