About Us:
We’re Superior Gaskets, and we’ve been making custom gaskets and maintaining commercial kitchens around Portland for 7 years. We’ve got a busy schedule and a solid base of happy customers. We’re looking for someone who’s hands-on, reliable, and ready to join a small team where your work, opinion, and expertise are valued, and your schedule has flexibility.
What You’ll Do:
Install & Measure: You’ll be taking precise measurements for gasket sizes and inspecting all gaskets for any rips, tears, or areas that aren’t sealing properly. Then, you'll install the new gaskets in fridges, freezers, and other commercial units to ensure everything fits and functions perfectly.
Fix & Maintain: Besides working on gaskets, you'll be doing things like installing or fixing cooler doors, hinges, door closers, and repairing flooring in or near walk-ins. Sometimes, you’ll need to cut and grind metal to get the job done. You’ll also help with other repairs in kitchens, like fixing walls or cabinets. It’s all about making sure everything works like it should, using your hands and common sense to figure things out as they come up.
Talk to Customers: You’ll chat with our customers, figure out what they need, and make sure they’re happy with the work.
Work Solo: You’ll be handling jobs on your own, managing your time and tasks without someone watching over your shoulder.
Get Physical: This job involves lifting, working in tight spaces, and sometimes being in cold areas like walk-in fridges.
Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.+, work in tight spaces, and handle physical tasks.
Experience in carpentry, HVAC, general contracting, refrigeration, automotive work, facilities maintenance, or any hands-on technical field is a plus.
You need to be in the Portland area.
A valid driver’s license and your own transportation are essential, although a work vehicle will be provided for use during business hours.
