Fabrication Supervisor
MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS TIG / MIG REQUIRED
Full-Time, Day Shift (4 - 10 hour shifts, M-F, 6:00am-4:30pm)
Full-Time, Weekend Shift (3 - 12 hour shifts, F-Sun, 6:00am-4:30pm), paid for 40 hours
The Fabricator role is responsible for all facets of fabrication, including fitting, welding, adherence to established quality control standards, and use of engineering drawings. The role also requires maintaining a clean workspace, following weld schedules, and efficiently completing tasks within planned resource hours. Fabricators are expected to be knowledgeable about vessel specifications, build standards, and industry requirements.
At higher levels, this role includes leadership responsibilities, such as guiding team members, improving production processes, and ensuring quality control.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Demonstrate in-depth skills in MIG and/or TIG applications, including fitting, welding, straightening, and use of fixtures.
Follow all WPS materials and AWS D1.2 standards.
Complete assigned weldments within established quality control standards and timeframes.
Maintain flexibility and perform multiple duties in a fast-paced environment.
(Level II, III & IV) Work on aluminum vessel programs for military and government clients.
(Level IV, V) Lead a team of at least 2-5 fabrication personnel on major hull programs.
(Level IV, V) Collaborate with the Fabrication Supervisor and Engineering team to train and guide team members and improve production processes.
(Level IV, V) Make recommendations for tools, machinery, and equipment to enhance fabrication efficiency.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
3+ years of MIG and TIG welding experience in aluminum (preferred), stainless steel, titanium or copper alloys materials, with openness to skill-specific training.
Ability to work OT as required.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including symbols, flag notes, and general notes.
Experience following written and verbal instructions, including production travelers and standard procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Positive attitude and reliability.
Must demonstrate adaptability and commitment to long-term success.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching as required.
Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
Job Conditions:
The role involves working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, tools, and standard workplace hazards. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
