QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5 years as a fire sprinkler fitter (compensation will be based upon experience)
Ability to read complex building plans and install systems with minimal supervision
Eagerness to learn new skills and new technology in a rapidly evolving field
Excellent communication, coordination and time management skills
Journeyman level understanding of NFPA and other building codes
Fitter must supply and maintain all hand tools required; company will supply all power tools
Experience in underground fire mains, above ground steel and Blazemaster/Flameguard sprinkler systems
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work alone or in teams
Serve as a foreman / lead fitter on select projects
Train apprentices in trade skills and company policies
Communicate and coordinate with other trades
Use company issued tablet computer to track project time and coordinate with superintendent, office, suppliers, and customers as necessary
If hired without a Portland Fire and Rescue certificate of fitness card, you will be expected to take coursework and/or exams for your certificate
COMPENSATION
This will be an hourly paid position. Initial wage will be negotiated upon hire and will be subject to skills/experience assessment and overall fit within company during a 60-day probationary period. Subsequent to probation, position will carry full benefits, including company vehicle, health/dental care, 401k/retirement and PTO.
Stated wage rates in this ad should be considered a minimum. Triad Fire Protection regularly participates in Prevailing Wage projects, which increases fitter wages.
