Full Job Description

Pay DOE, willing to train the right candidate.

Days with possible On Call and out of town work.

Monday-Friday + depending on schedule and workload.

Marine and heavy equipment repair. Anything related to but not limited to: Tugboats, Cranes, Dozers, winches and hoists, loaders, excavators etc. Brands including Manitowoc, Cat, Detroit, Skagit, John Deere, Hitachi, custom built, etc. The Mechanic must possess knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Requirements:

Must have electrical and hydraulic experience.

Must have a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.

Able to read and write English.

Able to understand verbal direction in English.

Have or able to pass DOT physical.

Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions!

Ability to push/pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Ability to work up to 12 hr. shifts.

Must be able to pass TWIC background check.

Must have basic hand tools.

Must be able to pass a drug screening test.

Essential Functions

Able to diagnose problems with equipment and machinery.

Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance.

Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.

Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.

Diagnose faults or malfunctions in the Field.

Provide assistance throughout the yard as needed.

Job Conditions

This position is regularly exposed to all weather conditions. Physical hazards such as noise, fumes, and dirt are present due to the equipment, machinery, Safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, and face shields may be worn depending on circumstances to eliminate the risks associated with these hazards. Travel may be required for this position.

Handling multiple issues regarding safety and maintenance increases pressure. The workload may be unpredictable, and pressure can be substantial during peak times. Critical deadlines require considerable adaptability. Disturbances of workflow and/or irregularities in work schedule are expected and occur on an intermittent basis. Extra hours may be required, sometimes on weekends, weekdays, and holidays. Out-of-town jobs are possible.

Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions

Ability to: stand for up to 12 hours a day; lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally; crouch or bend at the knees occasionally to increase visibility; stoop or bend at the waist occasionally to increase visibility; reach at arm’s length frequently or overhead occasionally; twist and turn at the neck and torso; walk frequently on uneven ground; handle and grasp tools and parts continually; communicate by speech and hearing continually. Visual acuity needed for close detail work. Mental dexterity needed as Mechanic will work independently while demonstrating attention to detail and continuous awareness.
