Job Title: HVAC Technician

Job Summary

Innova Heating and Cooling is a small family owned HVAC company operating in the greater Portland area and Vancouver, WA. We are seeking an experienced and dependable Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and light commercial HVAC systems. This position requires strong diagnostic skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Focus on repairing and maintaining HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ventilation systems, and refrigeration units.

Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems and perform the necessary repairs.

Manage and handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations.

Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repair, and service activities, including time spent and parts used.

Communicate clearly and professionally with customers to explain system issues, repair options, and maintenance tips.

Ensure all work is compliant with local HVAC codes and safety standards, including OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

HVAC certification from a technical or trade school, or 2 years of work experience.

Valid EPA Section 608 Certification for proper handling of refrigerants is required.

A valid driver's license

Strong knowledge of HVAC fundamentals, including heating, cooling, refrigeration, and ventilation equipment.

Proficiency in diagnosing electrical and mechanical problems.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Strong time management, organizational, and attention-to-detail abilities.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift heavy equipment and components (up to 75 pounds or more).

Capable of standing, walking, and climbing ladders for extended periods.

Ability to work in confined spaces, including attics, basements, and crawl spaces, and to maneuver in tight areas.

Willingness to work in various weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
