Maintenance Technician for Manufacturing Plant

SUMMARY

We’re seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician (Grade 2 or higher) to support our assembly operations by operating and maintaining machinery, upholding safety and quality standards, and adapting to changing production needs. This role is ideal for someone experienced with manufacturing equipment and forklifts who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

SALARY

Range based on experience: $30.00/hr to $35.00/hr

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic automated systems, including conveyors, production equipment, and facility infrastructure.

- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and hydraulic issues with minimal supervision.

- Plan, estimate, and execute maintenance and improvement projects in coordination with the Production Supervisor.

- Develop, implement, and maintain a preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.

- Support installation and startup of new equipment and facility improvements.

- Design and fabricate basic repairs and process improvements as needed.

- Train team members in maintenance procedures, equipment operation, and safety practices.

- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.

- Promote a safe and compliant work environment by following and enforcing company safety and quality policies.

- Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks; assist with operator training.

- Collaborate with production teams to meet operational goals and adapt to changing priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Commitment to a safe, high-quality work environment.

- Experience operating and maintaining industrial equipment and forklifts (certification required).

- Strong mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of machinery and tools.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities.

- Effective problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

- Ability to read and interpret machine manuals, blueprints, and schematics (mechanical, electrical, and piping).

- High school diploma or equivalent; 4–10 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience or knowledge in plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical diagnostics, lubrication, and MIG/TIG welding.

- Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

- Technical certification, journeyman card, or equivalent maintenance training.

- Willingness to pursue additional training or certifications related to maintenance and safety.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this role, the employee must be able to:

- Regularly bend, squat, kneel, and climb, and safely navigate ladders and congested workspaces.

- Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs., and occasionally up to 70 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.

- Operate machinery in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
