About the Role

We have some exciting projects coming up, and are looking for a Mid-level or Journeyman Carpenter to assist us on a part-time basis, averaging around 30 hours a week to start. Experience in high-end residential remodeling is a huge plus, but equally important is the right attitude and mindset– namely, a passion for craftsmanship and design, a desire to always be learning and taking on new challenges, a strong work ethic, and a positive mindset. This role can lead to a Lead Carpenter/Site Supervisor position for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Perform carpentry and construction-related tasks efficiently as part of a team and also individually at times, including framing and fine finish carpentry.

Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints and execute work accordingly.

Assist in various onsite construction tasks and job-site cleanliness/organization.

Communicate and cooperate with team members and clients in a respectful, positive manner.

Participate in a work culture of positivity and constant improvement.

Requirements

2-5 years of remodel construction experience. New construction + other woodworking experience is also appreciated.

Have reliable transportation to and from work. Pickup truck or work van preferred.

A professional set of hand and power tools

Be willing to travel to job-sites in and around the Portland metro area

Be punctual and professional in appearance

Proficiency in basic math and fractions

Work between 25-35 hours per week

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Preferred but not required:

Ability to tow a tool trailer.

An interest in Japanese carpentry and design.

Compensation

$25-36/hour depending on experience.
