Position Summary: The Router Programmer will be responsible for taking part files and assemblies from our engineering department, organizing and nesting them onto stock sheet sizes, and applying NC-code for in-house CNC routing. Candidates will also be expected to act in a quality control role to reject non-conforming parts and manage the router cutting schedule. The Router Programmer will be responsible for scheduling and supervising all CNC router and CNC press brake processes while leading a team of 3-4 router and press brake operators. The individual in this role will report to the Pre-Fabrication Supervisor and will lead a weekly scheduling meeting to discuss workload and priorities to match production schedules for all projects.

This hands-on role requires exceptional competence in all phases of CNC router and CNC press brake operations.

Essential Job Functions:

Receiving files to cut and form in either in DXF/DWG format or through a direct import of SolidWorks assemblies to SigmaNest.

Organize parts by thickness utilizing assembly drawings, nest the parts based on the program and quantity required, apply NC code to properly cut all required features, and add any metadata to properly kit the cut parts once complete.

Demonstrate the ability to safely perform multiple duties and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. They will also be required to complete assigned work in a reasonable amount of time while adhering to established quality control standards.

Work closely with the Pre-Fabrication Supervisor to improve the router cutting/press brake workflows while continuously improving procedures and processes for complex and unique designs.

Thorough understanding different tools, equipment, and software that will simplify and expedite the cutting and forming processes.

Capture and document red lines.

Other tasks as required to support the company’s objectives and growth

Work Experience:

Router Programmer will typically have 5-8 years of experience with SigmaNest (or comparable CAM software) and applicable work experience with CNC cutting and/or forming equipment. Experience with aluminum CNC router cutting and proficient use of Solidworks or other CAD software is highly preferred.

Essential Job Requirements:

 Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

o High School Diploma (GED).

o Must be a U.S. Citizen.

o Must be able to pass background check.

o Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, understanding drawing symbols read flag notes and general notes.

o Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, read production travelers, and adhere to standard safety and quality control procedures.

o Must have experience with CAM software and programming for CNC Cutting operations.

o Must have computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.

o Attention to detail and accuracy while working within a fast-paced production environment.

 Physical Requirements:

o Ability to lift 50lbs.

o Standing for long period of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required.

o Ability to work long hours, when required, to meet deadlines and other deliverables.

Preferred Job Requirements:

 Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

o SigmaNest training course completion certificate

o SolidWorks training certificate

o SolidWorks PDM experience

o AAS degree in an applicable machine tool field

o Demonstrated leadership with a team of 3 or more personnel

Work Schedule:

Daytime shift

4-10's, Monday - Thursday

6:00am - 4:30 pm

Weekend shift

3-12's, Friday - Sunday

6am - 6pm
