Moore Excavation Inc. (MEI) is a large, 4th generation, family-owned Heavy Civil Underground Construction company which currently employs 200+ employees. MEI is known for undertaking some of the most challenging public infrastructure projects Oregon and Southwest Washington has to offer.
Moore Excavation Inc. is currently looking for a SERVICE WRITER. The Service Writer is responsible for scheduling, tracking, and defining the maintenance required on the Moore Excavation fleet of trucks and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate is a problem-solving, take-charge person that has excellent leadership and organizational skills to join our growing service department. This position is based in Fairview, Oregon.
Responsibilities:
Answer phone calls in the service department for heavy construction field repairs.
Always follow all safety procedures.
Communicate with field supervisors on scheduling repairs and PM services.
Schedule the field mechanic daily planner in Equipment 360.
Schedule the fueler daily routes and coordinate timing with field supervisors.
Start repair orders, when completed review for accuracy and obtain service manager approval before finalizing and closing out.
Assist service manager with the organization of repairs and parts.
Assist with ordering parts for the technicians.
Process parts returns and warranty claims and follow up to be certain that claims are paid and parts credits are given.
Generate reports and complete other paperwork as requested.
Review technician timecards for accuracy.
Work with delivery driver and third-party vendors to assure timely pickup & delivery of parts.
Skills Required:
Technical knowledge of construction equipment is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational and computer skills.
