Moore Excavation Inc. (MEI) is a large, 4th generation, family-owned Heavy Civil Underground Construction company which currently employs 200+ employees. MEI is known for undertaking some of the most challenging public infrastructure projects Oregon and Southwest Washington has to offer.

Moore Excavation Inc is currently looking for a TRAFFIC CONTROL SUPERVISOR for HEAVY/CIVIL UNDERGROUND CONSTRUCTION WORK in the Portland Metro area.

General duties include, but are not limited to:

Establishing and maintaining safe work zones with the proper utilization of traffic control devices to ensure

compliance with local city and state regulations.

Design and execute traffic control setups that ensure safe traffic operations, civilian safety and workers’ safety throughout construction zones.

Traffic planning, placement, set up and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones, and other traffic control devices.

Direct movement of traffic through site, using sign, hand, and flag signals.

Responsible for understanding reading, understanding and following workflow patterns in work zones and ensuring proper protocol and traffic

requirements are followed and discussed with foreman/supervisor/Superintendent.

Maintain a clean work area and secure the job site daily to eliminate any potential hazards.

Ability to perform labor tasks which may include- load, unload trucks as well as haul and lift materials.

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule which may include nights and weekends.

Requirements:

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Must be TCS Certified.

Traffic Control Certification

Minimum 1 year experience as a Traffic Control Supervisor

Knowledge of traffic safety laws and roadside maintenance is necessary.

Basic understanding of construction procedures, OSHA guidelines and construction equipment, including safe

operating practices and signs of maintenance issues.

Dependable and able to work independently with little supervision as well as with a team of individuals.

Self-starter who takes initiative.

Ability to stand for long periods of time, work under a variety of conditions and ability to perform physical labor.
