Apex Labs is an environmental testing laboratory that provides analysis of soil and water samples for environmental consulting and engineering firms, municipalities, governmental agencies, and industrial companies. Apex is locally-owned, and with a staff of over 75 employees is the largest environmental lab in the state.
Job Summary
This courier position involves making deliveries and pickups around the Portland Metro area, and farther trips on occasion. No two days are alike as our routes are decided based upon changing client needs. As a courier, each workday will begin at our lab and you will be responsible for providing an effective and incident free delivery or pickup of samples to and/or from client locations. All couriers drive a company provided late model vehicle with air conditioning.
The number of daily deliveries/pickups will vary, but this is NOT a high pressure job with quotas of how many stops are made in a day. Providing excellent customer service and rapport with our clients is most important. Any gaps in the day that driving is not needed will be filled with assisting the sample intake staff.
Shift: Monday through Friday, 10:00am - 6:30pm.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Deliver bottle kits to clients in a timely fashion.
- Pick up samples from clients and deliver to the lab.
- Drive company vehicles safely, complying with all laws and driving best practices.
- Pick up company supplies and deliver to the lab when required.
- Prepare bottle kits when requested.
- Execute other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Attitude is where it all starts. We need people with a real 'Can Do' attitude!
- Good organizational skills
- Basic computer skills
- Solid written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work quickly and follow detailed written instructions.
- Ability to work with occasional requests for flexible scheduling based on client needs.
Requirements :
- Valid driver license and good driving record
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds repetitively throughout the day
