Minimum Salary: $53,899.09
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Mental Health Therapist (MHT) works to provide a variety of mental health services
including outpatient treatment to adults, youth and families. The MHT provides a variety of therapeutic interventions including psychotherapy, structured therapeutic activities and group therapy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide weekly, individual therapy to an established caseload.
Conduct Family therapy as indicated.
Provide intake and assessment.
Clinical case management includes accompanying/assisting clients in getting connected to needed services.
Provide collateral consultation as appropriate
Maintain client files according to clinical procedures and ensure confidentiality of files.
Participate in staff and clinical meetings and regularly scheduled peer review/quality control supervision.
Provide input and assist in the planning of staff development trainings.
Carry out program goal as outlined by the Health Director.
Document the client’s progress in the program through progress notes and d/c planning.
Submit monthly board reports, quarterly reports and other reports as requested.
Evaluate crisis situations and make recommendations regarding dispensation of outcome.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in working with children and youth by providing mental health and case management services.
Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with individuals from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds; including the ability to understand the behaviors of other individuals or groups in settings where several cultures coexist and make appropriate recommendations.
Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
Possess basic computer skills, personal computer word processing, use of electronic medical record (EHR), and provide team support for efficient functionality.
Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or other related social/behavioral science is required.
Assessment, consultation and intervention experience required.
Outpatient individual and family therapy experience required.
Utilization of a variety of models of therapy is required.
Hold current & unencumbered certification with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists or Oregon Board of Licensed Clinical Social Workers.
