S.N.O. Landscape is hiring for an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. We are a locally owned and operated landscaping company based in Woodburn OR. The Senior Staff Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the financial and operational excellence of our Landscape construction business and Retal/Wholesale Nursery. This position oversees and enhances the company’s financial management systems, office operations, and overall organizational efficiency to ensure sustained growth. The Senior Staff Accountant brings expertise in accounting and administration to manage daily financial functions, guide office staff, and contributes to the company’s strategic initiatives. This role requires adaptability, a collaborative mindset, and exceptional organizational and communication skills

What You’ll Do

Financial Management

Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and job cost accounting.

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analyses to guide financial planning and decision-making.

Maintain general ledger integrity, performing reconciliations and overseeing journal entries.

Collaborate with owners, project manager and estimator to track and report job costs, ensuring profitability and proper allocation of expenses.

Manage tax compliance, including payroll taxes, sales taxes, and coordination with external CPA for tax filings.

Monitor financial performance metrics and provide actionable insights into leadership.

Office Administration

Ensure efficient day-to-day operations of the office, equipment, and vendor relationships.

Develop and implement office policies, procedures, and systems to optimize workflows.

Oversee human resources functions such as onboarding, employee benefits, and compliance with labor laws.

Leadership and Collaboration

Act as a trusted advisor to the company’s leadership team, providing strategic financial and operational guidance.

Partner with project teams to ensure smooth communication and support project execution.

Foster a positive office environment that promotes teamwork, productivity, and professional growth.

Education and Experience

4-5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, and/or or office management

Strong knowledge of accounting, budgets, billing, lien waivers and job costing

Skills and Competencies

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Procore, SupplyPro, Autodesk), Microsoft Office Suite and Excel.

Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with strong attention to detail.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of HR practices and employment is a plus.

Spanish Speaking is a plus

Pay:

$25 - $39 DOE

Sign on bonus negotiable. DOE

Schedule:

Full-time, Monday – Friday

Overtime when needed

Russian Orthodox Holydays off

40 hours PTO offered per year (Negotiable)
